Showtimers is pleased to announce that its 501© (3) non-profit status has been retroactively reinstated. In February of 2012, Showtimers was notified by the IRS that its non-profit status had been retroactively revoked as of May 2011.The revocation was due to clerical errors that resulted in late tax filings.
“This is really good news, not only for our organization but also for the generous individuals and businesses who continue to support our arts organization. From a tax stand-point it is as if we never lost our non-profit status. The reinstatement is retroactive to May 2011, the original date when our non-profit status was revoked,” says Vickie Haynie, President of Showtimers of Roanoke Valley, Inc.
“We had been patiently waiting for the paperwork to work its way through the IRS. This notification comes at an excellent time at the beginning of our 64th season.”
Showtimers 2014 season starts with the delightful musical Amen Corner which opens Wednesday February 26th.Call 540-774-2660 for tickets or go online to www.showtimers.org.
