Veta Simmons is determined to make a name for her and her daughter, but first she has to deal with her brother Elwood and his best friend, Harvey, who happens to be a six-and-a-half-foot tall rabbit that no one can see.
Written by Mary Chase, Harvey was an immediate success when it opened on Broadway in 1944, running for a total of 1775 performances in its original Broadway run, as well as winning Chase the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1945. Harvey also found success as a feature film starring James Stewart, released in 1950.
